George John Nazarey Jr
George is a 2000 graduate from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in computer science. He started in the information technology field in 1995 while working at a local Internet service provider. He has worked for various companies ranging from small startups to fortune 100. He has been specializing in computer security for the past 20+ years.
After graduating, he started working for Alabanza Hosting. He was in charge of more than 250,000+ IP addresses and 1000+ servers. His tasks ranged from simple CGI fixes to re-architecting the IP distribution and network layout.
He then worked as a contract employee for the United States Department of Transportation. In this role, he was in charge of their email architecture. During his time there, he re-architected the email infrastructure from a hub and spoke design per department to a centralized policy based. This made the email process more unified and efficient.
The next rung on his career latter was with IronPort Systems. In this role, he architected, installed, and optimized three of the top five biggest deals in the company’s history. These installations ranged from 750,000 to 4.5 million mailboxes.
He then joined Cisco Systems when IronPort was purchased by Cisco. At Cisco, he was the Security Consulting System Engineer, CSE, for the United States Navy and Marines. During the four years with Cisco, he received System Engineer of the quarter twice. This honor was bestowed to him for the architecting the centralization of the Department of Defense Email and United States Navy 802.11x implementation.
After leaving Cisco in 2013, he became a consultingsystem engineer with FireEye. His territories have covered both the Department of Defense and Intel Community, specializing in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. During his first year, he architected and installed the largest Email Security deal in the company’s history.In the spring of 2019, he transitioned to the Western Canadian team to be with his family in Calgary, AB and cover the commercial sector.
In the spring of 2022, George became a CrowdStriker and is a regional sale engineer for CrowdStrike covering Western Canada. This role includes but not limited to endpoint security, cloud security, identity protection and threat intelligence.
