Martin Dinel is a trusted information technology and cybersecurity professional with over 34 years of leadership experience. As Chief Information Security Officer for the Government of Alberta since August 2015, Martin is defining the organization’s cybersecurity vision and strategy to counter the cyber threat and ensure the protection of the province’s digital assets. This year, Martin was one of 37 worldwide innovators featured in the Public Sector Network’s 2022 Global Government Innovators eBook. His current involvement in the cybersecurity community includes:
Cybersecurity champion and speaker at various international conferences and events;
Chair of the CyberAlberta Community of Interest, formed with the cybersecurity leads of Alberta public and private sector organizations to strengthen Alberta’s cybersecurity posture; and
Member of the National CISO Committee on Information Protection (NCCIP), involving peers from all levels of governments across Canada, acting as Chair for 5 of the past 8 years.
